Bob Saget’s star-studded tribute show raises $1.2M for scleroderma research

Five-time Emmy winner Dave Chappelle performed a surprise stand-up set Wednesday night at the star-studded tribute to Bob Saget in Beverly Hills. Raised $1.2 Million for the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

“Tonight I got drunk because I love Bob so much. Bob, I feel you in this room tonight,” the 49-year-old controversial comedian said on stage at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

“What a wonderful person.”

Dave – who felt like he was “bombing” – shared a video message the late Full House star sent him months before his death on Jan. 9 and vowed to continue to do him “forever favors.”

Bill Burr, Kevin Nealon and Howie Mandel also performed at the $500-a-ticket Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine Tribute – which was co-hosted by John Mayer, Jimmy Kimmel and Jeff Ross.

An emotional moment was when Joel McHale asked the audience for a standing ovation in honor of Bob, who was a board member of SRF and hosted the same event for 30 years.

John Stamos introduced a moving eight-minute tribute film Love, Laughter and Scleroderma — which was dedicated to Saget’s work raising more than $26 million for the organization.

On October 23, Bob announced he filmed his final subject – Tom Waits – for the Martin Mull documentary he was directing, but it’s unclear if he was able to finish the final cut.

Saget’s last acting role was portraying Lawrence in Jeremy LaLonde’s inheritance comedy Daniel’s Gotta Die in the Cayman Islands, which has yet to be released.
