Bizarre $850 ‘apartment’ for rent in Sydney has one VERY creepy feature and reveals the reality of the cutthroat rental market

High demand for rentals in Sydney has seen unique properties spring up with exciting features on offer to renters, but a new listing in Marrickville reveals the current state of the market.

Listed as a four-bedroom apartment on popular real estate sites like Domain and realestate.com.au, the property features tiny rooms fitted with windows that would allow tenants to peer into each other’s private spaces.

The original purpose of the ‘unit’ has been revealed through a listing on Domain’s Commercial Real Estate’s commercial rental site, which describes the property as an office suite.

The commercial listing describes the property as a “premier office in the heart of Marrickville” and “suitable for a wide range of uses.”

While residentially listed, the property is described as a “4-bedroom unit including electric, internet and water bill.”

While the property is listed on residential real estate sites, a commercial listing has also been found.

Any future tenants are expected to pay $850 per week for the property, which equates to $212.50 per “room.”

Despite being listed as both commercial and residential property, both listings feature booty beds set up in each of the office spaces.

The property, which is offered for rent through Sincere Real Estate Australia, also comes with two shower rooms and a ‘full kitchen’.

‘Secure your place of business in the heart of this thriving industrial precinct,’ the listing on the business site reads.
