Bindi Irwin plans to renew her vows with husband Chandler Powell

Bindi Irwin has revealed that she plans to renew her wedding vows with husband Chandler Powell.

The 24-year-old daughter of the late Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin tied the knot with the Florida-born wakeboarder, 26, in an intimate ceremony at the start of the Covid pandemic in March 2020.

She said HELLO! magazine it was difficult not to have family and friends at their wedding as they were forced to adhere to strict lockdown rules at the time.

Bindi said she would “like” to host a second ceremony with guests unable to attend their official nuptials, perhaps when their daughter Grace Warrior – who was born on their one year anniversary – is a bit older.

Chandler and I got married in the middle of the 2020 lockdowns due to the pandemic. We were unable to have family and friends with us for the wedding,” she said.

“Personally, I’d love to renew our vows one day when Grace is older. It would be wonderful to have our best friends and family with us to celebrate.”

The conservationist also spoke about her husband’s adjustment to fatherhood, after the couple welcomed Grace on March 25, 2021, exactly one year after they exchanged their vows at Australia Zoo.

“Chandler is an extraordinary husband and it fills my heart with joy to watch him become a father,” she said.

“He’s such a kind-hearted, patient person, which makes him the best dad. Grace adores Chandler and has endless fun with him.”

Speaking about her father Steve’s legacy, Bindi said she believes her father would be “proud” of what the Irwins have accomplished at Australia Zoo.

The TV personality also honored her father, known as The Crocodile Hunter, who died on September 4, 2006, at the age of 44 after being gored in the chest by a stingray while filming a wildlife documentary in Queensland.

“I hope he would be proud of what we’ve accomplished for conservation,” Bindi said.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been over 16 years since he passed away. In some ways it still feels like yesterday when we were together as a family on our last crocodile research trip.’

Bindi continued, “I know in my heart that his love and enthusiasm will live on and that gives me great comfort.”

It comes after an Irwin family insider revealed that baby Grace Warrior is poised to become television stars.

The source said the two-year-old could become even more famous than her grandfather Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin.

“Grace is an absolute natural in front of the camera,” the source said New idea.

It is also believed that she could be an even greater entertainer than her grandfather Steve Irwin. She’s so smart and funny,” they added.

While some close to the Irwin family believe that Grace is too young for a life in front of the cameras, her mother Bindi has been appearing on TV since she was two years old.

“You have to remember that Bindi grew up in front of the cameras and was the same age as Grace when she first appeared on television,” a source says.

They added that Bindi is excited about a possible new TV opportunity in the US with a format similar to The Crocodile Hunter – the show that made her parents famous.

Bindi and her husband celebrated Grace’s second birthday on March 25 and decided to throw an intimate party in the US with Chandler’s American family.

She also had a small scale event at Australia Zoowhere visitors could enjoy free cupcakes and a live performance by Bluey and Bingo.
