Joey Essex will reportedly star in the upcoming series of civilian Big Brother, which starts on Sunday night – and fans are not happy.
The reality star, 34, is fresh from filming the latest summer series of Love Island but is now ready for more TV work.
This is despite saying he would be ‘taking a massive break’ from reality TV after his controversial stint on Love Island and a cameo in Selling Sunset.
Joey is not intended to be a contestant, but will have a role in the upcoming civilian series The mirror.
A source told the publication: ‘Joey will definitely appear in the new series, although he won’t be a contestant.

ITV and Joey’s representatives have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
Fans did not react happily to the news, saying they had seen enough of him on their screens this year.
They wrote on X: ‘This better not be true.’, ‘I hope this is fake. He can’t keep selling Sunset and claiming to buy a $5 million house and then go on Love Island AND BB.’,

After Love Island came to an end this summer, Joey appeared on This Morning alongside then-partner Jessy Potts, where he told presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle: ‘I’m taking a massive break.
‘I feel like I’ve done every reality show possible – I don’t think I’d really want to do that, Strictly. I’m taking a break and I have some opportunities in America.’
It comes after Joey broke his silence on his split from Jessy after the couple called things off last month, just seven weeks after leaving the Love Island villa.
The ITV2 stars, who met on the latest series of the dating reality show, confirmed their split from former TOWIE star Joey and insisted he hopes to remain friends with Jessy, 25.
The pair said they “tried to make their relationship work,” but after leaving the show “it just wasn’t meant to be.”
Joey then spoke out for the first time since they announced the news and revealed what happened between the pair.
When questioned by Goss.ie at the launch of Iconic Bronze’s latest tanning range, the reality TV icon replied: ‘Unfortunately we just broke up. I wish her all the best.’
Joey was also questioned about the possibility of appearing on the second season of Love Island All Stars, which he quickly dropped.
“I don’t mean no right now,” he confirmed, “that’s certainly not in the pipeline right now.”
