- Biden and Trump will make dueling visits to the Texas border on Thursday
- The head of the Border Patrol union said Biden went because he was behind in the polls
- “He’s not even going to the right place,” Brandon Judd told DailyMail.com
The head of the National Border Patrol Council on Monday criticized President Joe Biden for egregious electioneering, accusing him of only visiting the southern border with Mexico because he is behind in the polls.
Brandon Judd said the president, who will visit Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday, didn’t even go to the right place
“He’s had three years to do something,” Judd, who represents 17,000 Border Patrol agents, told DailyMail.com shortly after the trip was announced.
“And now that he knows that he is being hit very hard in the polls by the crisis he has caused, he is now crossing the line.”
If Biden had really done everything he could, Judd added, why should he have to go?

The border crisis is central to the election campaign this week. Both Biden and his likely Republican challenger Donald Trump announced plans to visit different parts of Texas on the same day.
Judd said Biden wouldn’t see what really happened.
“It’s not even going to the right place,” he said. “He’s going to Brownsville, Texas – the Rio Grande Valley has been very slow for the last eleven, twelve months.
“Right now we’re seeing the worst in the Tucson sector, in the San Diego sector, but he still chooses to go to Brownsville.”
It will be Biden’s second visit to the border as president. He traveled to El Paso last January after local officials cleared out the migrant camps.
Earlier, a White House official revealed plans for the second visit.
He said the president will meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, law enforcement officials and local leaders.
“He will discuss the urgent need to pass the bipartisan Border Security Treaty in the Senate, the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border in decades,” the official said.
It came after details had already emerged about a planned Trump visit to Eagle Pass.
The Trump campaign ridiculed Biden.
President Joe Biden made a fleeting visit to the border in El Paso, Texas, in January last year
“Crooked Joe Biden has had three years to visit the border and resolve the crisis he created,” spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said.
“Now Biden’s handlers are sending him there on the same day as President Trump’s publicly reported trip, not because they want to actually solve the problem, but because they know Biden is losing terribly.”
Judd said a trip to Eagle Pass made more sense because Trump can see what Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has done there with barbed wire and floating barriers.
“Since Texas stepped in and took control of that area, we’ve seen a fourfold increase in the number of illegal crossings,” he said.
“So he goes there to see, what works? What are you doing? What works?’
