Biden goes after ‘loser’ Trump again for injecting bleach comments: ‘I wonder if he did it? It could explain some things.’

President Joe Biden once again went after “that loser,” former President Donald Trump, over comments suggesting Americans should inject themselves with bleach during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president headlined the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies black-tie gala at the Washington Convention Center on Tuesday evening as he continued to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Biden brought up the pandemic — including the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes because COVID’s origins are Chinese — and Trump’s handling of the crisis.

“Look, I’ll never forget him lying about the pandemic and telling Americans to inject bleach into their skin,” Biden said, pausing. “I wonder if he did it?” the president asked, laughing.

“It might explain some things,” he said.

The president headlined the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies’ 30th annual gala, addressing the rise in hate crimes against Asians during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the outbreak that started in China.

The president has also targeted Trump on immigration reform.

Biden recalled how Congress came close to passing a comprehensive immigration bill, although Republican support waned after Trump — the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee — intervened.

“This bill had majority support, the bipartisan bill, had majority support in the House of Representatives and the Senate, but I was told that the other guy, that loser,” he said as the crowd cheered him on.

“I think he has problems,” Biden said at the time.

The president recalled how Trump called on Republicans to block the bill, narrowing its chances.

‘But he’s wrong. Republicans in Congress must act because it is the right thing to do and Americans need it,” the president added.

The president mentioned Trump by name — instead of calling him his predecessor — because of the Republicans’ 2017 tax law.

Biden also called out Trump for being insensitive about one of the country’s many mass shootings — but he botched the details.

“And I remember in Atlanta, Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park. This guy said when the last shooting happened they asked him about it, he said get over it, get over it,” Biden said. “Ughhh,” the president said.

“I’ll be good,” he told the crowd.

The mass shootings in Atlanta, Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park impacted the Asian American community.

In the days leading up to the January 15 Iowa caucuses, there was a school shooting in Perry, Iowa, which Trump brought up at a campaign rally.

“I want to express our support and deepest condolences to the victims and families affected by yesterday’s horrific school shooting in Perry, Iowa,” Trump said.

“It’s just horrible, so surprising to see it here,” he told the crowd in Mason City. “But we have to get over it, we have to move forward.”
