President Joe Biden hosted Hispanic power brokers and a few celebrities at a Cinco de Mayo party in the Rose Garden with margaritas, mariachi music and slams on his unnamed “predecessor” Donald Trump.

The president applauded the contributions of Mexican-Americans, twice mentioning that he has a bust of Cesar Chavez in the Oval Office, while denouncing Trump’s plans to deport millions of illegal immigrants.

“We are a nation of immigrants and we must not forget that,” he said. He defended new rules expanding access to health care for so-called “Dreamers” who came to the country illegally as children. He also renewed his demand that Congress act to give them permanent status.

‘Give me a break. These have been model citizens. Congress must act.”

“And I’m proud that last Friday my administration finally announced a rule that, for the first time ever, I can finally offer health insurance through the Affordable Care Act for DACA recipients,” Biden said, praising the new regulatory efforts.

In a crowd that included Mexican actor Cristo Fernandez and Cabinet Secretaries Xavier Becerra, Miguel Cardona and Isabel Casillas Guzman, Biden repeatedly attacked Donald Trump without mentioning him by name. (Fernandez plays Dani Rojas on the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, whose stars previously visited the White House).

Biden was introduced by NBA player Jaime Jaquez of the Miami Heat.

“Thanks for the introduction, buddy. I’ve always looked up to you,” Biden told the 6-6 guard.

On a humid day in DC, Biden excoriated Trump for his recent Time Magazine interview.

“In the same interview, my predecessor promised to use the US military to deport 11 million people here in America… He called immigrants rapists and murderers,” he said.

‘Folks, this is not who we are. That’s not America,” Biden continued.

Trump was asked in the interview whether his deportation plans included the military.

“That would be so,” he responded, adding, “When we talk about military personnel, I generally talk about the National Guard.”

He said he “would have no problem using the military on his own.”

“These are not civilians,” Trump said. ‘These are people who do not legally reside in our country. This is an invasion of our country.”

It comes in an election where Latin American voters will again be crucial and where Trump has broken new ground.

Businessman and activist Henry Munoz predicted to DailyMail.com that Biden would beat Trump among Hispanic voters by two to one. He accused Trump of telling Hispanic voters “we don’t belong here,” while Biden calls them the “future of this country.”

‘That’s not even an immigrant question. That’s a matter of: we were born here and we are the future of the economy,” he told DailyMail.com after the event. ‘We are already the economy here.’
