Belgium have confirmed the appointment of Domenico Tedesco as their new first team coach.

The Red Devils had been searching for a new national head coach and turned to the Italian following Roberto Martinez’s departure from the role in December.

On the website of the selection it was confirmed that Tedesco, 37, signed a contract until after Euro 2024 with the selection.

Talking with him belgian federation, Tedesco said: ‘It is a great honor for me to be the new head coach of Belgium. I really want to start the task and I am very motivated. I had a very good feeling from the first conversation.’

The Italian has previously been in charge of Schalke, Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig. He won the DFB Pokal with German club Leipzig in May last year.
