Beau Lamarre-Condon: Katy Perry photos show how far accused killer cop has fallen by allegedly murdering Jesse Baird and Luke Davies

EXCLUSIVE

As accused murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon spends two months behind bars in protective custody, extraordinary images have emerged of his past life chasing international superstars.

Lamarre-Condon’s case was briefly raised in Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court in late April when he failed to appear in person or via audiovisual link from prison.

The 28-year-old is accused of murdering TV presenter Jesse Baird and his Qantas flight attendant friend Luke Davies in Paddington on February 19.

Lamarre-Condon’s current conditions under 24-hour observation at the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Center in Silverwater are a far cry from his days and nights seeking the spotlight.

More photos have emerged of accused killer Beau Lamarre-Condon during his time as a celebrity-hunting paparazzo. He is pictured with pop star Katy Perry in Sydney in 2017

Lamarre-Condon was once a fixture on the local celebrity trail, posing for photos with visiting A-listers including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and Harry Styles.

Daily Mail Australia has obtained more images of the sacked senior officer cuddling and taking selfies with hit singer Katy Perry during two of her trips to Australia.

In July 2017, Lamarre-Condon wrapped his arms around Perry on a Sydney street as she greeted fans outside Universal Music’s Australian headquarters.

In an earlier set, shot in March 2014, again in Sydney, the amateur paparazzo was seen taking photos of himself with Perry using a professional camera.

A source close to Lamarre-Condon recently revealed that his mental state deteriorated as he struggled with the harsh reality of his first time in prison.

“He’s not doing too well at the moment,” the source told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Obviously it is now known: what happened, the allegations and where he is. I think the rot has set in mentally. He’s at a low point right now.”

Police allege Lamarre-Condon shot dead 26-year-old Baird and 29-year-old Davies with his service pistol at Mr Baird’s home and dumped their bodies in the Southern Tablelands two days later.

Mr Baird and Lamarre-Condon had previously been involved in what police have described as an “on and off” romance, but Mr Baird had not wanted to pursue a relationship.

Police allege the killings were premeditated following a months-long campaign by Lamarre-Condon against “predatory behavior” directed at Mr Baird.

The couple’s bodies were found on February 27 in surfboard bags on a rural estate in Bungonia, about 185km south-west of Sydney.

Lamarre-Condon has not yet entered pleas on the two murder counts, but his attorney, John Walford, said outside on April 23 that the charges could be “defensible.”

Mr Walford, who served in the NSW Police Force for 20 years before going on to work for the Director of Public Prosecutions, also said his client was doing a “bit of a tough job” in prison.

“It would be very tough for him at the moment, but it is tough for everyone,” Walford told reporters.

Asked whether the allegations were defensible, Mr Walford said: “They could be.”

Mr Walford has received a partial evidence briefing from the DPP and Lamarre-Condon will undergo a psychiatric assessment next month.

Mr Walford told Daily Mail Australia it appeared Lamarre-Condon had received a number of compliments while associated with the youth leadership.

He said Lamarre-Condon had used his past experiences as an entertainment blogger to introduce underprivileged children to celebrities, “to give them a little high.”

On one occasion, the police officer arranged for an indigenous child who was having personal problems to meet his hero, singer Jessica Mauboy.

“Apparently he was very good with disadvantaged children,” Mr Walford said. ‘Other children who come out as gay, and that in difficult times.

‘Apparently he assisted detectives in a high-profile case involving serious domestic abuse and he became involved and gained the child’s trust and that case was able to proceed because of his involvement.

‘We have quite reliable sources who say he was a bit of a star in the youth leadership.’

Mr Walford said he was in no way trying to downplay the horrific crimes his client was accused of, but that the picture that emerged from his investigation was not that of an “evil monster”.

Lamarre-Condon had strong support from his family, including his mother, who was a former police officer.

He must appear in court again on June 18.
