The glittering detail in Baz Luhrmann’s 2024 Met Gala ensemble that pays homage to his homeland of Australia
Baz Luhrmann paid tribute to his home country and one of his epic films at the 2024 Met Gala in New York.
The director wore a little detail that harked back to his 2008 drama Australia on the red carpet.
The 61-year-old wore a $2000 gold and diamond necklace made by Kununurra jeweler Frauke Bolten-Boshammer of Western Australia.
It is made in the shape of a boab tree, native to the region.
Owner of Kimberley Fine Diamonds, Bolten-Boshammer, gifted Baz with the bauble when he made Australia in the area all those years ago.

“We just wanted him to get something from us,” Bolten-Boshammer told Perth Now.
During filming, the jeweler was almost visited by Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban.
“We had Nicole and her husband come in, she bought it for her mom and manager,” she said.

The dress code for this year’s event is The Garden of Time, in keeping with the new exhibition it is hosting: Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

The Australian director looked years younger than his age as he showed off his smooth and tanned face.
His skin glowed and glowed, while his enviable hair was perfectly styled.
Catherine matched her husband in a green floor-length dress, which also featured floral embroidery and silver embellishments.
