Baz Luhrmann puts on a brave face while attending the AFI luncheon a day after the death of Lisa Marie Presley

Baz Luhrmann, who directed Elvis, attended the AFI Awards luncheon one day after the sudden death of Lisa Marie Presley.

The Australian filmmaker, 60, looked solemn as he walked the event’s red carpet with his wife Catherine Martin.

It comes just hours after he took to social media to pay tribute to the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, writing: “Your warmth will be missed.”

Weeks ago: Baz was photographed with Lisa Marie on Tuesday at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills; Also seen here are his Elvis star, Austin Butler, as well as his mother, Priscilla.

Along with an uploaded photo of Lisa Marie sharing a laugh with Elvis star Austin Butler, Luhrmann said: “Over the past year, I and the entire Elvis movie family have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s gracious embrace.”

“Her sudden and shocking loss has devastated people around the world. I know that her fans everywhere join me in sharing prayers of love and support with her mother, Priscilla, and her wonderful daughters Riley, Finley and Harper.’

Then, directing her words to the late singer-songwriter, she added: “Lisa Marie, your warmth, your smile, your love will be missed.”

For the occasion on Friday, Baz looked handsome in his silver-gray cut in a clean cut with wispy pieces on top.

Honored Lisa online: Her appearance comes just hours after she took to social media to pay tribute to the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, writing: “Your warmth will be missed.”

He dressed conservatively in a black suit with a white button-down shirt, skinny black tie, and black dress shoes.

His face was clean shaven except for a well-groomed mustache as he stood close to Catherine, who looked gorgeous in a lacy black dress with a matching cardigan.

She smiled as she supported her husband, slipping on a pair of oversized matte black glasses.

The accomplished filmmaker took time to mingle with other attendees at the event, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

She appeared in photos with actor Miles Teller, who wore a blue suit and white button-up shirt.

The Top Gun: Maverick actor, 35, looked cool with a full beard as he exchanged words with Baz.

On Thursday, Presley was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was said to be in a coma following “total cardiac arrest” shortly after she complained of stomach pains, according to TMZ.

The 54-year-old had attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday, January 10, along with Luhrmann and her mother Priscilla, where Austin Butler won Best Actor for his portrayal of her father.

Shortly after her death, Priscilla, who was at her daughter’s side, said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”

“She was the most passionate, strong, loving woman I have ever met. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. There will be no further comments at this time.
