Bayern Munich are eyeing a shock deal for a former teammate of Harry Kane, as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his squad to ensure the German giants stay on course for the title this season.
The Bavarian team are trailing in the race for the title, with Leverkusen topping the table on 42 points, while Bayern are four points behind with a game in hand.
Winning the title should be the minimum expectation for the German side this season as they also bid to win the Champions League – having already been dumped out of the German Cup following a stunning defeat to minnows Saarbrücken.
To add even more depth to his squad, Tuchel now wants Bayern to sign a Premier League defender who has previously played with his star man Kane – and Bayern have already reached a verbal agreement.
Heaven in Germany claim from grace Tottenham player Eric Dier is on Bayern's target list this month and that a deal has been agreed in principle.

The report goes on to say that there have been 'discussions and ideas' about a permanent transfer for the England international, but that there has been 'no final decision yet'.
Dier was a player Bayern spoke about last summer, it added, saying contact was “never lost”.
However, the club is also exploring alternatives in the event the deal does not materialize – with Tuchel 'putting pressure' on club officials to expand his squad and 'pursuing new signings as quickly as possible'.
Another Premier League player ruled out as Bayern's target is Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, who is 'not a subject' of discussion.
Dier has fallen out of favor at Tottenham and has made just one start under boss Ange Postecoglou
Dier will be keen to get some game time after falling out of favor under Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou this season.
The 29-year-old has only started one game for Tottenham in the Premier League, with the Australian favoring a centre-back of Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven.
But in brutal fashion, the manager has opted to play full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies ahead of him, with both his first-choice defenders unavailable this season amid a massive injury crisis.
Dier is one of Spurs' longest-serving players after joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and has made 365 appearances in his eight-year spell.
