Bayern Munich ‘fined Sadio Mane over £260,000’ for slapping teammate Leroy Sane at Man City, reports in Germany claim, with the club ‘trying everything’ to sell the ex-Liverpool star this summer
Bayern Munich fined Sadio Mane massively and is now keen to sell him this summer after punching teammate Leroy Sane in a fierce confrontation last week, according to reports.
Things got tense between the two after the German side’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday, with Mane lashing out at Sane in the dressing room, forcing other members of the side to intervene.
Sane was left with a bruised lip after the incident, while Mane was sent off Saturday for Bayern’s Bundesliga match with Hoffenheim and withheld part of his £17million-a-year salary.
The size of the penalty has now been revealed, with Bayern handing out the largest fine in their history.
“According to our information, it is an amount well beyond €300,000, so it is a very, very sensitive fine for Mane,” said Bayern expert Florian Plettenberg. Heaven Germany.

Tensions between Mane and Sane rose after Bayern Munich’s 3-0 defeat at Man City
Mane missed Bayern’s 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim, and Thomas Tuchel has now won just two of his first five games since replacing Julian Nagelsmann last month.
The former Chelsea boss has confirmed that Mane will be back in contention for Bayern’s return leg with City on Wednesday as they look to stage a dramatic comeback to progress to the semi-finals.
Pep Guardiola has suggested the clash between Mane and Sane could excite Bayern and give them an extra advantage, but the Senegal striker only started the first leg on the bench and it appears Tuchel is not a fan of the ex-Liverpool -star.
It is far from certain that Mane will start in Munich, and his days at Bayern could be numbered less than a year after he joined the club, with Plettenberg claiming the Bundesliga giants are ready to sell him already.
“From what I have heard, Bayern will do everything they can to relieve Sadio Mane in the summer,” he said.
“From a sporting point of view, Thomas Tuchel has no plans for Mane, he doesn’t fit into his system. These are my data. The player is viewed very critically internally.’

Mane’s £35 million move to Bayern has not gone according to plan with the Senegalese star struggling for form and fitness in Germany
Mane’s first year in Germany has been a disaster after a promising start that saw him score on his Bundesliga debut.
The 31-year-old has been torn between up front and on the left wing without making his way up the flank, and was brutally ruled out of the World Cup late last year after injuring his right fibula.
Since his comeback, he has failed to find the net for Bayern and has been consistently benched for big games, including the disappointing loss at City.
Time is now running out for him to prove he has a future at Bayern, with the team down to just six league games and on the verge of exiting the Champions League in the quarter-finals for the second consecutive season.
