A hiker who went missing on Queensland’s highest mountain has been found.
The man, in his 20s, is believed to have been walking in dense bushland near Josephine Falls Road on Bartle Frere, a mountain 70km south of Cairns, on Tuesday.
He was last heard at 6:30 p.m., prompting emergency services to launch a search on the 1,622-meter mountain until late Tuesday evening.

The man was found shortly after searches resumed at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the man was “safe and well”.
