Two men are in critical condition at a hospital after being stabbed during a confrontation in western Sydney.

Police said emergency services called Main Street in Blacktown at around 12:15 a.m. Saturday and found two men, ages 48 and 34, on the sidewalk with stab wounds.

The old man suffered neck and shoulder injuries, while the young man suffered back injuries.

They were taken to Westmead Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The police have established a crime scene which is being examined by specialized forensic officers.
