It was not immediately clear whether the former duo had obtained a marriage license in the US
Margera told the court that he and Boyd spent time away from each other on “numerous occasions” amid their “turbulent and unstable” relationship.
Margera said, “During these breaks, Boyd would leave my house and go stay with her family in California. However, Boyd would always come back to Pennsylvania soon after and we would resume our dating relationship.”
Margera said in legal filings that both he and Boyd “knew and understood” that they weren’t married after their Icelandic ceremony, as she verbally admitted to him at one point.
That’s what Boyd’s lawyer David Glass told Page six that ‘It was only recently that Nikki had ever heard Bam’s claim that they never married.
“She was told the wedding would take place in Iceland and everything was arranged. She had a wedding ceremony and then returned to the US and lived as a married couple with Bam for many years.”
Boyd was under the impression that all the legal paperwork had been “handled” as part of the ceremony in Europe.
Glass told the outlet that Boyd believed “in good faith” that she was married to Margera and “at the very least” falls under the classification of an “alleged husband” under the legal statutes in California, where she has filed for divorce.

Boyd filed for a legal divorce from Margera in Los Angeles last February, saying the cause was irreconcilable differences, and asked the court to award spousal support to her.
Glass told TMZ in February that Boyd was concerned about Margera’s behavior around their young son, saying he might act “inappropriately” when under the influence of substances.
Boyd “made the difficult choice” to pursue divorce from Margera “to protect himself and their son.”
Boyd and Margera separated in 2021 and in September of that year Boyd went to court to seek full custody of their son.
In the recent filings he filed, Margera said Boyd moved to California “to take advantage of alleged marriage laws that exist in California, but not in Pennsylvania.”
Boyd’s attorney Glass told Page Six “the clear facts are that the parties moved to California together and lived here for months before Bam was placed in rehab by his parents,” while she “continued to live in California with Phoenix while Bam has bounced back.” around — living in Florida, living in California, and back in Pennsylvania for a few weeks.”
He added that “California is the only location for this divorce proceeding.”
Margera has made headlines in recent weeks amid a flurry of legal issues, including an altercation with his brother, who accused him of drug use. Margera has denied the allegations.
