Balthazar owner Keith McNally REIGNITES omelet feud with James Corden – calling comedian a ‘phony’

The owner of a restaurant where James Corden reportedly yelled at staff about a failed omelet has rekindled his feud with the ‘fake’ British star.

Keith McNally, owner of the upscale Balthazar restaurant in New York City, said talk show comic Corden will “say anything to save his bacon.”

McNally responded to recently revealed text messages Corden sent to a reporter stating that he “never yelled at anyone” after an omelet served to his wife was supposedly cooked wrong.

It appeared the pair had buried the hatchet after Corden apologized on The Late Late Show and McNally lifted his ban on Corden from visiting the restaurant.

McNally claimed Corden’s messages to a reporter who claimed he wasn’t yelling were “a huge lie”

It looked like the feud was over after Corden apologized and McNally lifted his ban

But in a post on Instagram today, McNally said, “LAST POST ON THIS NON-STORY:

“I don’t want to exaggerate the pudding, but in Friday’s London Times, Corden freaked out and AGAIN told a huge lie:

“I never yelled at anyone, I never yelled, yelled or cursed anyone or used derogatory language… How is it even remotely a thing? When that person posting the story wasn’t even there.”

“On the second viewing I found his TV “Confession” contrived and fake. The actor will say anything to save his bacon.

In the aggregate of things, my opinion means nothing, but after Friday’s interview and a second look at his fraudulent confession, I’ve given up on James Corden. For good.

‘END OF STORY.’

Corden allegedly yelled at staff when his wife’s omelette contained protein despite her allergy

Corden apologized on The Late Late Show and McNally accepted, but the feud has started again

He didn’t clarify whether Corden was formally banned again, but the post suggests it’s unlikely he’ll ever return to the restaurant.

The infamous omelet saga began on October 9 when Corden and his wife Julia dined with friends at the restaurant. Julia asked for a yolk omelette – something not on the extensive brunch menu.

When it arrived the dish had some protein in it. Corden sent it back to the kitchen and when it came back he said it was still “wrong.”

McNally first shamed Corden on Instagram, telling his followers how the comedian had twice abused the staff.

He said, “James Corden started yelling at the server like a madman, ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!'”

Corden spoke about the controversy on his show last Monday and apologized, prompting McNally to forgive the comic and lift the ban.

But McNally tore in Corden again over the text messages sent in The times.

In a flood of text messages, Corden said the incident and the reaction to it was “the most surreal moment,” while adding that McNally was not present when his wife Julia received the wrong order.

“I mean, it’s so strange,” he writes.

“I’ve never yelled at anyone, I haven’t yelled, called anyone names or cursed or used derogatory language… how could it even remotely be a thing? And that’s okay?

“And now it’s a fact, and that’s that. When the person posting the story wasn’t even there. Just so strange.’

He added, “I’ve never talked about eggs so much.”

McNally also owns Pastis, Minetta Tavern and Morandi in the West Village – three well-known, respected New York institutions that are regularly visited by celebrities.

At Balthazar there are only two omelettes on the menu; the $25 omelet with herbs, and the $27, egg white omelet. Both come with a side of home fries or salad.

Servers explained to DailyMail.com that Corden asked for something that wasn’t offered and was upset when it wasn’t up to his standards.

“He wanted an omelet with only egg yolks. Not the egg white omelette, but egg yolks,’ said one.

“Then why bother ordering an omelette if you’re allergic to eggs?”

In his apology for the outburst, Corden said, “Because I didn’t yell or yell, I didn’t get up from my chair, I didn’t scold anyone or use derogatory language, I’ve walked around thinking I didn’t do anything wrong.

‘But I have. I made a rude comment,” he said, adding that he “appreciates and respects everyone in the service industry.”

Corden’s current contract with Viacom CBS for his Late Late Show expires next year.

He and his wife are selling their $9.7 million home in Brentwood and plan to return to the UK next year.
