The 007 actor was widely rumored to have been in talks to play Thor’s half-brother Balder The Brave in the blockbuster film, which stars the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olson.
When asked about the rumors during a chat with Happy Sad Confused’s Josh Horowitz at New York’s 92NY, the 54-year-old jokingly quipped, “I’ll take any job.” If the schedule is good, I’ll take it.
Daniel Craig has confirmed that he would “love” to star in a Marvel movie amid speculation that he could join the MCU.
Reacting further to claims that he could still appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the James Bond star continued: “Sure, I would love to do a Marvel movie…absolutely, definitely.”
Earlier this year, Marvel fans found out that Asgardian warrior Balder The Brave was one of many roles cut from the Doctor Strange sequel.
The character reportedly would have been a member of the Illuminati in the film, and in October, concept artist Darrel Warren shared what his vision of the character looked like in an Instagram post that seemed to confirm the speculation.
‘BALDER THE BRAVE | It’s a shame this character didn’t get beyond this watercolor,” he captioned the image that bore a striking resemblance to Craig. ‘Everyone knows the story and if not, just go and look it up online…’
The actor was believed to have almost appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as the Asgardian warrior (Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed as Doctor Strange)
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness focused on and followed the superhero of the same name as he dealt with the complications that came with casting a forbidden spell that opened a gateway to the multiverse.
Craig was rumored to have been in talks to play Thor’s half-brother, Balder The Brave.
In addition to Cumberbatch, the film starred artists including Elizabeth Olsen, 33, Chiwetel Ejiofor, 45, and Benedict Wong, 51.
Craig also spoke about his time as Bond, explaining that he had a main fear leading up to his 15-year stint as 007.
‘It was on the list of pros and cons – which [the role] it would change my life,’ he admitted. “I had a certain level of anonymity at the time, I could still go out and travel and walk through an airport, and I knew that would go away.
“But he was also on the pro roster, and it worked out for the best.”
The actor’s candid confessions came after audiences were given a chance to see his upcoming film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, at a special event screening held at 92NY on Monday night.
The premise of the new film is: “When tech billionaire Miles Bron, played by Edward Norton, invites some of his nearest and dearest on a getaway to his private Greek island, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise.”
The character hints that he will pretend to be killed, but soon someone is actually killed, making the party that much scarier.
Fans will see Craig reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in the Netflix movie, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Craig’s character, Detective Blanc, will then have a new mystery on his hands to solve.
The film features an all-star cast that includes Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline.
The film began playing in select theaters for a brief period on November 23 and will begin streaming on Netflix on December 23.
