Bailey Cooper: Teenage girl takes her own life after seven years of relentless bullying – as her heartbroken mother says: ‘Kids are so cruel’
A mother has spoken of her fear after her 17-year-old daughter committed suicide.
Bailey Cooper, from Western Australia, took her own life on Sunday after being relentlessly bullied for seven years, her mother Keira Skeet said news.com.au.
The teen suffered from mental health issues and her struggles were exacerbated by other children bullying her.

‘We have tried so hard for so many years. Children are just cruel, they just don’t understand that what they say hurts people,” Ms Skeet said.
“The mental health system is a joke too. We have been in and out of public psychologists and counselors and every time she has been let down.”
The heartbroken mother hoped Bailey’s bullies would attend her memorial service to help them understand the impact of their actions, but said her daughter continued to be taunted online even after her death.
“They need to understand the consequences of their words and actions,” she said.
Mrs. Skeet has one fundraising to help pay for her funeral.

She wrote on the GoFundMe: “As a young family, I never thought I would be in a position to lay my baby daughter to rest.
“Bailey was the heart and soul of my entire life, from birth to her last breath at the young age of 17.
‘Who would have thought that a wooden casket and a celebration of the memory of her unique, beautiful broken soul would cost so much.
“I never thought I or we as a family would be in a position to ask for help like this… but here we are!”
