Bachelor In Paradise vet Ashley Iaconetti reveals she had a ‘chemical pregnancy’ before getting pregnant with baby number two
Ashley Iaconetti, 36, is expecting her second child with husband Jared Haibon, 35.
During an Instagram Q&A on Sunday, The Bachelor alum was asked how long it took her to get pregnant with son Dawson, 2, and how long it took to get pregnant the second time.
“Dawson took seven months to get pregnant and baby #2 took two months. I had a chemical pregnancy the first month,” Iaconetti said, raising questions about what a chemical pregnancy is.
‘This is the definition of a chemical pregnancy: A chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage that occurs within the first five weeks of pregnancy.
“An embryo forms and may even embed itself in your uterine lining (implantation), but then it stops developing,” she explained.

“Chemical pregnancies occur so early that many people who miscarry are unaware of it,” the Bachelor In Paradise alum wrote.
‘I did get a positive test that month and a few days later I started bleeding. I knew what was going on within about an hour because a close friend had also had a chemical pregnancy,” she explained.
‘I was sad for a few days, but it was month #1 and my midwife encouraged me and said that often you will get pregnant the next month. It’s almost like your body is in preparation mode.’
In January, the couple announced they were expecting and Haibon was over the moon.
“We want Dawson to have a brother or sister,” Haibon said People at the time.
‘That’s really important. We both come from families with two children. So we wanted to give that to Dawson. I want that big family dynamic, but man, having that many kids is just so overwhelming,” he continued.
“So even the idea of a second child is no longer a two-for-one in which we can defend against him. Now it’s just one on one.’
Last month, the couple had a sex reveal party at Walt Disney World.
The Bachelor Nation alums bit into some cupcakes and revealed they were expecting a second baby boy.

Iaconetti predicted she would have another son just before the gender reveal, joking, “I thought it was going to be a boy before I got pregnant.”
Haibon said at the time that he was excited about the prospect of starting a family of four, noting that “the idea of us having two boys will be really fun.”
The cast member of The Bachelor Winter Games went on to talk about how she had originally wanted a girl during her first pregnancy.
“It’s funny because when it comes to gender disappointment, I’ve had it so much worse with Dawson. We found out, and I was upset for a day or two,” she said, adding, “I don’t really even care what the combo is now, I just want them to be close.”
