Ayr come the girls! Racegoers brave grey skies as they don frills and fascinators to attend the Scottish Grand National

Revelers wore oversized fascinators, mesh tops and neon ruffled dresses at the Scottish Grand National today.

The event will be held at Ayr Racecourse and promises a day of nerve-wracking racing, drinks and fantastic entertainment.

Racegoers donned their best ensembles, put their best feet forward and stepped outside in cloudy weather to parade their outfits on Ladies Day.

And while the festival is all about horse racing, stylish fans will compete today for prizes for the best dressed.

One woman had her eye on the money as she wore a bright pink tulle dress with a deep hem that showed off her figure. She completed the look with a large rose fascinator as she wore her hair pulled back in a bun.

Her friend opted for a more classic look with a monochrome spotted one-shoulder top, paired with smart white trousers and pink heels, bag and fascinator.

Despite the weather in Ayr being cloudy and just 11 degrees, that didn’t stop partygoers from showing off their flesh in daring strappy and low-cut dresses.

Trying to amp up the glitz, attendees showed off daring ensembles, sporty bodycon dresses and sky-high heels – with many also opting for statement hats.

She paired her ensemble with a lime green satin bag slung over her shoulder and matching pointy heels.

The racegoer looked in good spirits as she posed with a drink in her hand next to her friend, who decided to grow an orange floral strip.

A noticeable trend among racegoers was the color palettes, with a vibrant spectrum of hues.

While some opted for pink pastel shades, others wore colors that were much more striking.
