She recently starred in a film that won the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award at the 2025 Golden Globes.

The award-winning actress looked completely unrecognizable next to Simon Cowell at the London Palladium in 2013.

Known for her breathtaking vocals, the singer rose to fame in the TV series I Can’t Sing! The X-Factor musical.

In the unearthed photo, the Tony Award winner was seen wearing a long curly wig, a far cry from her current shaved head.

The British star’s latest role sees her star alongside singer, actress and best friend Ariana Grande.

It’s…Cynthia Erivo from Wicked!

Cynthia, who looked suspiciously “thin” at the Golden Globes last week, looked very different in the decade-old photo.

Her big break came with the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of The Color Purple, where she played the lead role of Celie Harris.

The ageless beauty, 38, has turned heads for playing Elphaba in the smash hit Wicked, the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.

She and Ariana, who plays Glinda, developed a very close bond throughout the process.

Earlier this month, Cynthia revealed she felt a “great responsibility” to care for Ariana while filming for the blockbuster musical.

The singer explains this in an interview with CBS News that before filming began the pair discussed how they would work together and Cynthia revealed that she felt it was important to look after the pop star.

She added that the pair both knew the film would be successful and that they would have to work together despite all the pressure.

Cynthia told the US news channel: ‘Before we started filming, we both had a conversation about how we would take care of each other and make the space we needed for each other, and give each other what we needed. we had to be generous to each other in this matter because we knew it was a big undertaking.

“We knew we had a big responsibility, but we knew neither of us could really do it alone.”

Cynthia recently opened up about the “hard” and “vulnerable” conversations she and Ariana shared before working on Wicked together.

“I’ve gained a sister,” she said Elle’s Women in Hollywood 2024 portfolio. ‘At this point we speak almost every day. We were both impressed by the immediate connection we had.”

“I remember the first day we got together. It was over [director] The home of Jon M. Chu and Stephen Schwartz [who wrote Wicked’s music and lyrics for both the OG Broadway musical and the film] was over.

‘He played us a few songs and we sang together for the first time. It worked. It was one of the most satisfying things to know that there was someone who was so open and available, because she was too, and that meant I could be too.

‘We also had a beautiful relationship off screen.’
