Australia Post driver’s delivery excuse caught on CCTV
An irate customer has called Australia Post after a driver’s excuse for failing to deliver a package was found on CCTV to be false.
The man received a notification last Friday that his package could not be delivered to his home in Ningi, north of Brisbane, due to a ‘closed gate’.
“Well done AusPost,” he captioned a photo on Facebook showing the message “attempted delivery” on his phone, along with a clip from his CCTV footage.
The grab showed the driveway gate wide open around the same time Australia Post claimed they were trying to make the delivery.
The photo was flooded with comments from Australians claiming to have experienced the same problem with the postal service.

‘This just happened to my sister, also in Ningi. They didn’t even make sense,” one person wrote.
“I swear they didn’t get out of the truck, the camera would have picked him up, it must be all the same lazy guy,” the man replied.
While many encouraged the man to report the incident, countless others shared details about their own experiences.
‘They used to come into our driveway at high speed, we had two entrances. In, throw delivery, [and] out in 5 seconds flat. Total joke, shame about the wildlife on our property and god forbid if there were breakables in the package,” one person said.
My husband saw the delivery man stop yesterday and then immediately drive away. Then came the message that the package would be left at the post office. I didn’t even try to make the delivery,” wrote another.
A third wrote: ‘Aus Post deliveries around Ningi are rubbish. I only get one out of three items delivered,” a third person commented.
Another commented: ‘I have a staircase and they don’t even bother delivering. Goes straight to the post office for collection – annoying.”
Australia Post has launched an investigation into the locked gate incident.
“Australia Post takes its responsibility in delivering mail and parcels seriously and will investigate this matter,” a spokesperson said Yahoo News Australia.
‘If a delivery does not meet the high standards we expect, we encourage customers to contact us immediately.’
Daily Mail Australia contacted Australia Post for further comment.
