An Australian tourist has been found dead in Kazakhstan after disappearing for three days.
Jake Michael Herd, 27, was found dead near Big Almaty Lake, in the Tian Shan Mountains, at an altitude of about 2,800 meters, according to local authorities.
Mr. Herd had been missing for three days since his disappearance on Sunday.

He was last seen leaving his hostel to hike through the mountainous area.
Searchers found his body along with all of his personal effects – indicating that he did not die by force.
His body was found near the Ayusai River Gorge, at an altitude of 2,800 meters.
Mr. Herd would have fallen before he died.
He is said to have arrived in Kazakhstan last weekend and planned to leave on Monday.
