Asteroid City first trailer: Scarlett Johansson oozes sex appeal in the quirky movie about a desert community that might be inhabited by aliens

Focus Features released the trailer for the Asteroid City movie on Wednesday morning.
The movie, which is a coming-of-age movie about stargazing in the desert, is directed by quirky filmmaker Wes Anderson.
The highlight of the clip is Hollywood bombshell Scarlett Johansson, oozing sex appeal in a retro 1950s outfit and heavy makeup including fire truck red lipstick.
Also in the star cast are Margot Robbie and Tom Hanks.
Asteroid City is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on June 16, 2023 with a wider expansion on June 23. The film is expected to make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Asteroid City is set in the 1950s in a fictional American desert town that has a spooky feel to it.
At a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention, which is designed to unite students and parents in academic competition, things get crazy when a global event takes place.
The story centers on a widower played by Jason Schwartzman who takes his four children to see their grandfather, played by Hanks.
Their car breaks down, so they take it to Asteroid City for repairs.
His son, played by Jake Ryan, is fascinated by the town’s annual junior stargazing competition.
Soon the family is fascinated with the strange city where aliens are feared.
Also in the film is Tom’s wife, Rita Wilson, as well as Tilda Swinton, Matt Dillon, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody and Liev Schreiber help round out the cast.
Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend also make appearances.

They include Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, The French Dispatch, and The Royal Tennenbaums.
She sure has had a lucky career: Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke’s daughter, Maya Hawke, has a role in the offbeat movie.
She is a teacher who talks about the solar system: here Hawke is seen wearing a yellow dress and cardigan.

Asteroid City was written by Anderson and Roman Coppola.
