However, she has now managed to overcome her self-consciousness and show off her newfound confidence by showing off her figure, wearing a strapless black bra and a skimpy thong.
Ashley has opened up about her evolving feelings about her stretch marks, in a revealing essay she wrote for Glamour not long after the birth of her twins.
When she was pregnant with Isaac, she remembers that she “had a few stretch marks, and I had a few really good crying sessions over the stretch marks.”
Two years later, when she was 30 weeks pregnant with the twins, she explained that “the stretch marks were starting to creep up,” and tried to reassure herself.

She wrote, “I thought to myself, okay, Ashley, you can handle this. You already had a few, this is life. You’re a champion for all body types, who cares? This will be a great moment. You can share this with other women, it’s fantastic.
“But then they started creeping up even more, and you could see them coming out of my panties, and then past my belly button, and I melted,” she admitted.
Ashley continued: ‘I’ve talked to my midwives about it. I talked to Justin about it. I brought it up constantly with my team.
“I was like, ‘You don’t understand. I used to be a sex symbol, and now I’m a baby-making machine and I have stretch marks all the way down to my belly button. What’s going on?’
She recalled, “Then one day I stopped and thought, ‘Fuck it, this is my life,’ and I posted a photo of my stretch marks on Instagram, which my husband described that day as the tree of life. . Bless him.’
