McKennie, who started every game for the United States men’s team at the World Cup in Qatar, has made 15 league appearances this season, 21 in all competitions, but is considered ‘the most expendable’ of Allegri’s squad. despite its versatility.
The likes of Aston Villa, Fulham and Bournemouth are also said to be interested, but the 41-cap international has shown no interest in such moves because he wants to move to a ‘top club’.
A move to the league-leading Gunners could therefore tempt former Schalke star McKennie as boss Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.

He is reportedly a target for German side Borussia Dortmund, who did an investigation last summer along with French side Monaco, but there is no real movement on that front at the moment.
Juve are said to want a winger, and the cash from a potential McKennie departure could also allow them to go after Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, who will imminently decide between Arsenal and Dortmund.
Allegri’s side currently sit 10th in the Serie A table having lost 15 points following an investigation into his transfer transactions.
