Taylor-Joy recently sat down with Variety for a stunning photo shoot and to discuss Furiosa.
In the interview, she revealed the shocking request that Miller made regularly during the filming of the film.
She explained, “We would shoot where he would be, ‘Do it again with your mouth closed.’ He has a thing for my mouth. He thinks if my mouth is open I look too young.’
Anya added, “This is the wasteland, and any outburst of emotion is punishable by death…
‘Any empathy is punishable by death, any kindness actually. It all made sense to me. I think the restrictions George placed on me created an aura on the character because she is constantly oppressed throughout the film.”
