Anya Taylor-Joy was heavily dressed in pink as Chris Pratt posed with his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger at the Los Angeles premiere of The Super Mario Bros. movie in Los Angeles.
Held at Regal LA Live, the event welcomed a cavalcade of cast members from the film, who modeled colors chosen to reflect their characters.
Chris has been cast as Mario, a move that initially sparked a ‘cultural appropriation’ furor on the internet over the fact that the movie star is not in fact Italian, and gave the character a touch of class at the premiere.
The 43-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy cupcake emphasized his muscular physique in a skintight burgundy suit that brought back memories of Mario’s red shirt and baseball cap.
He modeled the suit over a simple white dress shirt, tieless and leaving his top button undone enticingly as he smiled alongside his second wife.

The 26-year-old actress sported a luxuriously wavy ash blonde hairstyle that was similarly reminiscent of the blonde bob that fans of Princess Peach will instantly recognise.

Charlie Day, who plays Luigi and was suitably dressed in green for the premiere, shone with his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis, while Veep star Sam Richardson attended the party on the arm of his girlfriend Nicole Boyd.

Pratt recently opened up about the controversy surrounding his casting as Mario during an interview with Gizmodo.
During the interview, Pratt expressed that he understood that longtime fans of the Mario franchise were particularly committed to the integrity of the character.
‘I totally get it, man. There is a passionate fan base and I am one of the fans. I understand. In general, people don’t want something like this to be ruined. They are precious about it. They are careful. And I’m thankful for that,’ he said.
The Jurassic World Dominion star later commented that he had gone above and beyond to faithfully represent the Nintendo character while working on the feature.

Day went on to explain why he felt fans of the Mario franchise were particularly wary of the film’s portrayal of the characters.
“In a lot of ways, the game had taken care of people, I think, in a way that they don’t want the franchise to be ruined at all,” he said.
Pratt went on to discuss his personal history with the Mario series, which began with his encounter with the original Donkey Kong arcade machine during its early years.
‘My first memory is the game room. And then shortly after, probably within six months to a year, the NES came out and we had one in our house and boy, yeah, the rest is history,’ he said.
