He enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2022-23, posting 15 goals and 17 assists in 38 league appearances as Atletico finished third in LaLiga.
He also featured in the World Cup in Qatar as he was one of France’s most outstanding players in their run to the final before they were beaten by Argentina on penalties.
According to L’EquipeGriezmann is happy with Atletico, with whom he is under contract until 2025 with the option of another year, but he does have a release clause that is below 25 million euros.
That figure is likely to put top clubs on alert, and could put Atletico in a dilemma if they receive offers.
Griezmann is very popular with Atlético having made 341 appearances for the club in two separate spells under Diego Simeone.
However, his wage package of £345,000 a week is a strain on the club’s finances as they were initially unable to register Axel Witsel last summer due to exceeding their salary cap.
Griezmann’s future is uncertain with rumors Atletico Madrid could be willing to sell him
Simeone limited Griezmann’s minutes in the early part of the season to avoid triggering a clause that would see Atletico pay Barcelona £35m to sign him permanently, before finally agreeing to pay £17m, allowing Griezmann to start playing more regularly.
Atlético’s financial situation remains a problem and it cannot be ruled out that the club will want to transfer him to get his wages off the books.
According to L’Equipe’s report, PSG have not yet shown any concrete interest in Greizmann despite being linked to him, while Saudi Arabia is eager to bring him to the Middle East, but they have very little chance of succeeding in their pursuit .
However, the 32-year-old is keen to end his career in the US, following in the footsteps of former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi who has agreed to join Inter Miami.
He visited New York last week and reportedly spoke to some MLS players as he weighs his options on when to make the move to the United States.
