Biotech millionaire Vivek Ramaswamy announced Tuesday that he will enter the Republican primary race for president.

He joins former President Donald Trump and his former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, in what is sure to be a packed field of candidates to be the Republican nominee for president in 2024.

Ramaswamy, 37, posted a three and a half minute video on Tuesday indicating that his campaign will focus on how conservatives have been culturally victimized.

“We are in the midst of a national identity crisis,” Ramaswamy begins in his announcement video. “Faith, patriotism and hard work have disappeared, only to be replaced by new secular religions like covid-ism, climate-ism and gender ideology.”

He also criticized identity politics, stating that the left uses America’s lack of identity as a weapon.

Ramaswamy officially entered the Republican presidential race during an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson when he posted the video expressing his opposition to social justice activism.

In the video posted on Twitter, the candidate criticized identity politics, stating that the left uses America’s lack of identity as a weapon.

“Today, the awakening left prey in that void,” Ramaswamy said. “They tell you that your race, your gender and your sexual orientation govern who you are, what you can achieve and what you can think.”

“This is psychological slavery, and that has created a new culture of fear in our country, which has completely replaced our culture of free speech in America,” he added before making his formal campaign announcement.

The best-selling author who made millions as a biotech executive and hedge fund partner has become a name on the right for being ‘anti-awakening’ and opposing corporate efforts to promote investment in political, social causes and environmental or ESG.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Jaime Harrison harshly criticized Ramaswamy, even pointing to the fact that he announced it on Carlson’s show.

“As Vivek Ramaswamy uses the Tucker Carlson show to announce his campaign for president, one thing is clear: the MAGA base race is getting more complicated and crowded by the day,” Harrison said in a statement.

Ramaswamy, nicknamed ‘CEO of Anti-Woke Inc.’ by the New Yorker, began traveling the country in recent weeks while exploring a presidential run. His announcement comes as he prepares for a tour of New Hampshire and Iowa this week.

Trump and Haley are the two biggest Republican names added to the presidential race so far, and while Ramaswamy might make waves, he has far less name recognition than the other two candidates.

Other speculative candidates include former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, among dozens more.

Ramaswamy, the son of Indian immigrants, is an entrepreneur in the healthcare and technology sectors. He previously considered running for the Ohio Senate seat in 2021, but ultimately decided against it.

The Harvard College and Yale law graduate co-founded Strive Asset Management and is currently CEO.

Strive is based in Ramaswamy’s home state and the asset management firm was financially backed by Ohio Senator JD Vance and Peter Thiel, a billionaire conservative libertarian businessman, venture capitalist and political activist.

The firm was created as an alternative to other companies like BlackRock, with the specific goal of staying away from political involvement.

The best-selling author has been described as “the leading anti-ESG crusader.”

ESG has been a growing hot topic among Republicans who oppose the investment approach.
