Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer teases an epic battle with Kang the Conqueror

Marvel Studios released the new trailer and poster for the highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, offering the first look at MODOK, who appears to be played by Corey Stoll, who played Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man movie.

Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp, with Johnathan Majors playing Kang the Conqueror, after making his MCU debut in 2021’s Loki.

The trailer debuted late in the third quarter of the college football championship game, which aired Monday night on ABC, just hours after Paul Rudd and others were seen filming reshoots in Los Angeles.

New poster: Marvel has released the new poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in theaters February 17.

The trailer opens with shots of Scott walking through his hometown of San Francisco, as we hear Kang say, “You’re an interesting man, Scott Lang.”

“You’re an Avenger,” he continues, as we watch shots of Scott and Hope dressed to the nines as they walk a red carpet.

“You have a daughter,” Kang adds, as we see Scott painfully looking at a call from his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), though Kang adds, “but you’ve wasted a lot of time, just like me.”

Interesting: The trailer opens with shots of Scott walking through his hometown of San Francisco, as we hear Kang say, “You’re an interesting man, Scott Lang.”

Avenger: ‘You’re an Avenger,’ it continues, as we watch shots of Scott and Hope dressed to the nines as they walk a red carpet.

Cassie: “You’ve got a daughter,” Kang adds, as we see Scott painfully looking at a call from his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), though Kang adds, “but you’ve wasted a lot of time, just like me.”

The Langs and Van Dyne watch as their device malfunctions and takes them to the Quantum Realm, as Kang adds, “We can help each other with that.”

Scott asks: ‘Who are you?’ when we see Kang approaching him, telling him: ‘I’m the man who can give you the only thing you want… time.’

We get another glimpse of the quantum realm when Hope’s mother, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), adds, “He can rewrite existence and break timelines,” as we see a shot of two Scotts facing each other.

Time: Scott asks: ‘Who are you?’ when we see Kang approaching him and saying, “I’m the man who can give you the only thing you want…time.”

Rewrite: We get another glimpse of the quantum realm as Hope’s mother, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), adds, “He can rewrite existence and break timelines,” while we see a shot of two Scotts facing each other.

Janet exclaims, “You can’t trust him,” though Scott adds, “I don’t care who this guy is, I lost so much,” as we see a shot of a much younger Cassie running up to Scott yelling, “Dad! ‘

“He can give us a second chance,” Scott says, as Kang says, “Let me make it easy for you.” You will bring me what I need, or everything you call life will end.

A tearful Cassie, who built the device that sent them all to the Quantum Realm, says, “This is all my fault,” while Kang tells Scott, “Maybe you don’t want her to see this.”

Young Cassie: Janet exclaims, “You can’t trust him,” though Scott adds, “I don’t care who this guy is, I just lost a lot,” as we see a shot of a much younger Cassie running up to Scott yelling, ‘Dad! !’

Fails: A tearful Cassie, who built the device that sent them all to the Quantum Realm, says, “This is all my fault,” while Kang tells Scott, “Maybe you don’t want her to see this.”

An angry Scott insists, “We had a deal,” as he begins to fight Kang, as we briefly see MODOK, a Marvel Comics character from 1967.

The character’s name is an acronym for Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Kill, and while it hasn’t been confirmed, a look at an unmasked MODOK in the trailer seems to reveal that Corey Stoll will be playing the character.

The trailer ends in dramatic fashion with an angry Kang saying, “Did you think you could win?” before lowering his boot and breaking Ant-Man’s helmet.

Win?: The trailer ends dramatically with an angry Kang saying, ‘You thought you could win?’ before lowering his boot and breaking Ant-Man’s helmet

“I don’t have to win,” Scott says without a helmet before continuing the battle and cryptically adding, “We both have to lose.”

The trailer ends with Cassie screaming for her father and Scott saying, ‘I’m sorry Cassie!’ before Kang sends blasts of purple energy out of his hands as the trailer comes to a close.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, also starring Michael Douglas, Bill Murray, William Jackson Harper, and Randall Park, hits theaters February 17.

They both lose: “I don’t have to win,” says a helmetless Scott before continuing the battle and cryptically adding, “We both have to lose.”

Kang: The trailer ends with Cassie screaming for her father and Scott saying, ‘I’m sorry Cassie!’ before Kang sends blasts of purple energy out of his hands as the trailer draws to a close.

Coming Soon: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, also starring Michael Douglas, Bill Murray, William Jackson Harper and Randall Park, hits theaters February 17.
