Angelina Jolie will reprise her villainous character in Disney's Maleficent 3.
The actress, 48, confirmed the news in a new profile with WJ. Magazinealthough she gave no further details.
It comes four years after the sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, was released. It is not yet clear who will play the leading role next to her.
Previous Maleficent films have starred Elle Fanning as Aurora, Maleficent's stepdaughter, as well as Michelle Pfeiffer, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and more.
In the same interview, Jolie also hinted that she wants to quit acting for good – while revealing that she plans to leave “unhealthy” Los Angeles and “spend more time” in Cambodia.

Maleficent is the evil fairy in the classic 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty, with Angelina portraying her in a 2014 live-action film.
Just five years later, Jolie played her again in Mistress Of Evil, still with black horns, fighting fairies and resolving her conflicted maternal feelings towards the sweet Princess Aurora (Fanning).
The original 2014 film grossed a whopping $758 million worldwide, marking another successful addition to Disney's line of dark fairy tales. The sequel grossed $491.7 million.
Being the entertainer that she is, when Jolie first got the role in 2014, she used her scary costume to prank her children.
'I pranked my kids when I first did Maleficent and I scared one of my kids! And I will never do that again.'
“I won't say which kid it was, but I thought when I first put it on and they'd never seen it before, and I thought it would be fun to be a little, you know.” But when you are little, you don't realize what a mother means to a child,” she said in 2019.
“I think that's why Maleficent is so scary, because she's a woman,” she continued. “So it's almost like a mother. Mother means so much and when mother turns into something that looks like a demon, it has a very bad effect and I had to rip it off and take everything off in front of my children to say, “It's me! It's me! OK .”'
Although she confirmed the upcoming role, Angelina hinted that she is ready to say goodbye to Hollywood in her new interview, where she discussed leaving the City of Angels for Cambodia after 'losing the ability to travel freely' amid her bitter divorce battle with Brad Pitt.

The actress spoke to WSJ about her distaste for Hollywood. Magazine's new December/January issue, in which she explains that she believes it's a “shallow” place, and admits that she probably would never have become an actress if she entered the industry today.
She explained that she wants to move as soon as possible to live in her home in Asia instead, but not before her ongoing legal battle with her ex is resolved.
The pair started dating in 2005 and married in 2014, but split two years later in 2016 – and have since been embroiled in lengthy, seven-year divorce proceedings over custody of their six children.
Angelina told WSJ. Magazine that the lawsuit has caused her to “lose the ability to live and travel freely.”
“It's part of what happened after my divorce: I lost the ability to live and travel so freely,” she said. “I'll move as soon as I can.”
“I grew up in a pretty shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you're looking for authenticity.'
Angelina — whose parents, Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, were both actors themselves — added that she was “never very impressed” by it because “she grew up around” Hollywood.
“I never believed it was that important or important,” she told the publication.
She admitted that if she were to start all over again today, she probably wouldn't choose acting as her profession, due to the “expectation” of sharing intimate details about her personal life that comes with being a famous person.

She added, “When I started, the expectation wasn't so much that I would be so public, that I would share so much.”
She also joked that she “doesn't really have a social life anymore” and that all her “best friends are refugees.”
The film star has worked with the UN Refugee Agency for more than twenty years and has visited camps in Cambodia, Tanzania, Sierra Leone and Pakistan over the years.
Angelina is embroiled in perhaps one of the most public breakups of all time, with the whole world watching as she and ex Brad, 59, have battled it out in court for the past seven years.
She spoke briefly about the dissolution of her marriage to WSJ while sharing why she decided to step back from the spotlight in recent years.
“We had to heal. There are things that we need to heal from,” she explained, when the outlet pointed out that she has only appeared in five films over the course of her seven-year legal battle.
If Angelina takes a break from acting, it doesn't mean she'll stop working altogether, with the on-screen star sharing, “I can't stop.” I always think there's a fight coming.'
Angelina and Brad first started dating in 2005, after meeting on the set of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

They married in August 2014 in a secret ceremony in the south of France, and welcomed three children together during their romance: Shiloh, now 17, in 2006, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 15, in 2008.
They also adopted two more, Zahara, now 18, and Pax, now 20, and Brad legally adopted the son Angelina adopted before they got together, Maddox, now 22.
But things came to an explosive end in 2016 after the couple had an alleged physical altercation while on a private flight with their six children.
In May 2021, after years of battling it out in court, Brad and Angelina were officially awarded joint custody of their six children, but a month later the judge's decision was overturned.
Since breaking up, the two stars have also fought in court over the winery they once owned together.
