Andrew Garfield is in ‘negotiations’ to star in a Frankenstein movie by director Guillermo Del Toro alongside Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac

Andrew Garfield, Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac are in early negotiations to star in Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein movie.

The news about the interpreters was revealed on Wednesday by Deadlineand it was also reported that the filmmaker would direct and script the feature film.

The 58-year-old director, who recently won an Oscar for his Netflix film Pinocchio, will also release his film via the streaming giant.

When approached by Deadline, Netflix had no comment to offer on the project.

Several insiders spoke to the news outlet and revealed that del Toro had met with the artists, though no formal offers have been made as of yet.

However, all the actors are said to be excited about the prospect of starring in the film.

A source also revealed that the Hellboy director is still working on the film’s script.

Although casting for the role has yet to be announced, it appeared that Goth was being eyed for the role of Doctor Frankenstein’s love interest.

Frankenstein; or The Modern Prometheus was written by Mary Shelley and originally published in 1818.

Numerous film adaptations centering on the mad scientist and his creature have been produced over the years.

The most iconic adaptation of Frankenstein was released in 1931 and starred Boris Karloff as the monster.

Del Toro has been open about his affinity for the story, having previously opened up via the hollywood reporter about trying to get his film off the ground during the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.

“I had an idea to do Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, but I don’t think it’s going to happen,” he said.

The filmmaker went on to express that he took on his various projects due to his affinity for wacky storylines.

“I really think the movies I make, more often than not, I make them because the premise is absolutely insane,” he said.

“Everything I’ve done, even the most commercially viable, has something strange about it,” he added.

Del Toro’s version of Frankenstein currently does not have a planned release date.
