Giggling Raye suffers a wardrobe malfunction as she struggles to hang onto her unbuttoned jeans while rushing to film new music video

Giggling Raye suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she struggled to hold on to her unbuttoned jeans as she rushed to shoot a new music video on Thursday.

The award-winning singer, 26, looked stunning in an exaggerated red faux fur coat with silk lining and oversized lapels as she rushed to the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

She looked relaxed in a black T-shirt, oversized mom jeans and black Ugg boots.

But with the button of her jeans undone, the musician appeared to struggle with the garment as she tried to keep her bottom up.

Raye, who was spotted carrying a large bottle of Evian water, went makeup-free and kept her look casual with a sleek bun.

Her performance comes just weeks after she told the crowd at Coachella Festival that her next album would be an exciting departure from her previous work.

Despite her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, winning her a record six BRIT Awards in March, she teased that the follow-up ‘wouldn’t be as good’. [be] what you expected’.

Since her first hit album, the singer has already gone multi-platinum with Prada and co-wrote Riiverdance – one of the songs on Beyoncé’s new country album Cowboy Carter.

The star who has made a name for himself in R&B told the California crowd on Saturday: ‘This next piece of music I’m going to release, I’m so proud of it and I want you to know it. I can’t wait for you to hear it, it’s not what you expected.’

It also came a day after her collaboration with Little Mix star Perrie Edwards was announced for the latter’s debut solo album.

Raye’s nine-song set at the Empire Polo Club in Indio included seven of her best from My 21st Century Blues, as well as Prada and her unreleased single Let There Be Light.

She performed during a female-dominated opening weekend of the festival, including a shocking performance from Billie Eilish during Lana Del Rey’s performance on Friday night.

Also on Friday, as Raye prepared to take the Mojave stage the next day, Perrie — dropping her last name — released her debut single Forget About Us, co-written by Ed Sheeran.

Perrie also announced that a second collaboration with Ed, 33, will appear on the album, as well as a song with Raye.

“It was ridiculous going into the studio with her,” the 30-year-old said.

‘She just radiates stardom, I can’t explain it – I think she’s one of the greatest artists of our generation.

“I’ve been lucky that the people I’ve idolized have been really nice to work with. There were no big egos or intimidating moments, I think that’s what made the experience so special for me.”

Perrie is yet to reveal when her debut album will be released, as is the case with Raye and the BRIT star’s second album.

In a 2023 interview about being snubbed by the Grammys, she insisted that she has “barely scratched the surface of what I can give musically.”

She added on

“The Grammys are awarded for the best that music has to offer and I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I can give musically [sic].’

Raye became the first artist in history to win six awards in one night at the BRIT Awards in March.

However, the Prada hitmaker felt her career was crumbling just 18 months before her win at the ceremony.

The day before Raye took the Coachella stage, Perrie Edwards released her debut single, and Raye would appear on a later track.

Raye feared her musical dream was disappearing less than two years ago when she had to beg her agent not to drop her.

She told The Times: ‘I’m just happy to be here: 18 months ago my career was over [hell]. I remember seeing my live agent at a gig.

‘I went to him, with tears in my eyes, and begged him not to abandon me. I told him I had more fight in me. A week later he set up this little tour.

‘There were a hundred tickets per room; I sat at the piano for two hours and talked the audience through my story so far. If anyone had said then that I would be at the O2 in less than two years, even I would have thought he was crazy.’

Three years ago, Raye parted ways with her label Polydor Records after accusing them of refusing to release her albums, and she subsequently launched her career as an independent artist.
