Andrew Bolt has ridiculed a University of Sydney academic who allegedly sent him threatening and insulting messages, labeling him a “left-wing leftist”.
The Sky News presenter questioned how Joel Griggs could be working for the University of Sydney as a casual staff member responsible for teaching young students when he allegedly posted a series of inflammatory messages from his personal X account.
In August, Mr Griggs responded to a post shared by the Sky News Australia account in which Bolt condemned revelations that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients would be given a different menu during their stay in a public hospital.
“Well (sic) I’ll get you one day, you seditious, treasonous scum,” Mr. Griggs wrote.
“Not just Bolt, Panahi, Dean and (Peta) Cretin, but the faceless shts (sic) like whoever wrote and posted this tweet. ‘I was just doing my job’ won’t cut it when the hoi polloi finally start chopping off heads.”
This message, along with several other messages allegedly targeting the Australian Jewish Association, has been referred to NSW Police, Sky News Australia reported.
On Tuesday evening, Bolt said he had “lost count of the death threats” he had received from left-wingers.
‘On the one hand; Islamists. On the other hand; far-left, climate extremists and race activists, Antifa,” he said.

‘Even a social worker who, would you believe it, published my home address and wished me harm, three children at home.
‘These are people who claim to be moral, so moral in fact that they feel they can behave like barbarians. Now add to the number a real academic at the University of Sydney, this Joel Griggs.
Bolt said Griggs “considered himself a kind of Che Guevara from our suburbs, with his violent and insulting language breathing fire online while supporting every left-wing cause.”
He added: ‘These people like to think they are so brave and original. Free thinker, individuals. And yet, look at them: they turn out to be standard, extremely predictable, left-left – and they all sing exactly the same slogans.
Bolt wondered how Mr Griggs could be employed by the University of Sydney.
“How does a person who is so radical, this intolerant, this foul-mouthed… this abusive and this threatening person get singled out as the person to help the University of Sydney educate our young people, on our money?” he asked.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mr Griggs for comment.
In his X-bio he describes himself as ‘Academic’. Firemark. Wild card.’
‘It’s socialism or barbarism. F*** the colony,” his bio adds.
In August, Bolt spoke out about revelations that the Canberra Hospital is building an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lounge and creating a ‘menu for the mafia’.
Patients who identified as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander were the only ones allowed to select foods from the menu, which included dishes such as kangaroo stew.
A spokesperson for Canberra Health Services told Daily Mail Australia at the time that the ‘menu for mafia’ was developed “to improve cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers during their stay and help them feel supported”.
Bolt labeled it an “apartheid menu” and accused the hospital of “separating people by race.”
