The 37-year-old Emmerdale star married EastEnders’ Toby-Alexander Smith, 33, in September last year, after welcoming daughter Bonnie Mae in January 2022.
New reality show Drama Queens follows nine female soap stars from Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Coronation Street as they give soap fans an insight into their lives off camera.
Speaking about filming the new show, Amy said: ‘For a long time I didn’t live in Leeds and I just went back to my family in London and went back to work.
“We’ve all been through a lot as women and mothers and it’s real.
‘Our other halves also have unique jobs, all three of us from Emmerdale are married to actors, so that brings challenges and it’s a juggle at times, a struggle.
“But obviously we’re in a really privileged position, so it’s basically the chaos that comes with home.”
When asked about her status as a newlywed and juggling her new life as a wife, Amy said, “I’ve barely seen him since we got married. ‘
‘Our relationship is still new and fresh and when you throw a toddler into the mix and work commitments it’s crazy, but we’re trying to get some time together. It is difficult.’
Amy and Toby-Alexander tied the knot in an idyllic ceremony at the rustic Talici Hill villa in Montenegro after three years of dating.
She met the EastEnders star in the Strictly Come Dancing audience in 2019 and struck up a relationship a year later.

Two years later, Amy – the sister of singer Kimberley Walsh – welcomed beautiful daughter Bonnie Mae.
Speak with OK! About her wedding day, Amy said: ‘It was honestly the most perfect day. It exceeded all my expectations and more. I felt so surprisingly present on the day and loved every second of it. Now I’m just in pure bliss.’
As well as discussing the day, Amy also revealed the incredible gift she received from her sister: their grandmother’s ring which she inherited and the loan of a pair of Chanel earrings worth €1,500 to be used as ‘something borrowed’ to serve on the big day.
In stunning photos in the magazine, Amy showed off the beautiful family heirloom and also wore a pair of pearl earrings from the designer, which are on the market second-hand for around £1.5k.
About the presents, she said: ‘I didn’t think of ‘something old, new, borrowed and blue’, but luckily my bridesmaids did…
‘My sister Kimberley gave me the ring she inherited from my grandmother. She wears it every day and it embodies my grandmother. I wore it on my little finger, so I had my grandma and grandpa with me that day, which was great.”

She revealed that Kimberley was also ready to lend her something, as she lent her earrings: “She lent me her Chanel earrings, which were amazing…
‘I had seen her wearing them one day and said to her, ‘Oh, I’m looking for something like that for the wedding.’ Then, the day she gave them to me to wear!’
The newlyweds exchanged vows during the beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of their friend and family, including some famous faces from Emmerdale including Natalie Ann Jamieson, Olivia Bromley and Louisa Clein.
Amy walked down the aisle with her brother and walked the rest of the way with her father, John, who has terminal cancer.
Drama Queens starts on Wednesday April 10 at 9pm on ITVBe and ITVX.
