Former world champion Amir Khan has offered to train Wayne Rooney for a possible fight against Jamie Vardy.
Rooney has been approached by KSI’s promotion Misfits to discuss the Manchester United legend’s potential at one of their events.
And Khan believes Vardy would be a great opponent for the former striker amid the ‘Wagatha Christie’ case which saw Rebekah Vardy lose her £3million libel case against Coleen Rooney in 2022 after the latter accused her of ‘false stories’ about her to leak private life. .
“Jamie Vardy is the right fight for Wayne Rooney, that’s a very good, even fight,” Khan told Gambling Zone. “They have the fight their wives have had, what a fight that would make, it would sell well.
‘They are both around the same level. They are both novices. I would back Wayne though because Wayne is more streetwise, he is solid.

“You don’t want to put him in the ring with someone who can hurt him, or take him out and make him look stupid. It just has to be someone for fun because someone like Wayne Rooney could really get hurt.
“He’s not much of a boxer, so if he jumps in too quickly it could hurt his confidence and he could get hurt.”
Khan added: “I would like to train and help Wayne Rooney. Athletes have a lot of respect for each other because they’ve been there and done it, so they listen to you more than a normal trainer.
“When you train with another athlete, you are pushed and you train hard.”
Rooney confirmed last month that he had been approached by Misfits, but insisted his full focus is on a return to management after being sacked by Birmingham earlier this season.
The 38-year-old said: “They have been in contact and asked the question but I think at the moment I want to concentrate on getting back into management, not boxing.
“There have been a few offers and obviously Misfits have come in and it’s been all over the news. But listen, I want to concentrate on my return to management, that’s my focus.’
