Chris Olsen43, who works in government policy in San Diego, made a TikTok video showing a “weird” airplane seat that “you have to see to believe.”
During a recent American Airlines flight from Phoenix to San Diego, the avid traveler landed in row 10 of an Airbus A321. As seen in his video, this seat has two seats positioned next to the crew seat, which faces the opposite direction.
Chris writes in the overlapping captions that the “flight attendant’s seat is located where the window seat should be.”
He adds that it’s “nice if you’re two people” that there’s no third seat in the row and that the seat is right next to an emergency exit, so another advantage is that you can “jump over it… if you need to.”

To gauge public opinion on the seating chart, Chris asked viewers, “Have you ever sat on the folding chair?”
The clip, which has been viewed more than 290,000 times, received dozens of responses in a short time.
One commentator described this spot on the plane as his “preferred seat.”
Another viewer said they “aim” for this seat every time they fly.
One of the participants mentioned another plus point of the configuration: ‘I had this seat on my last flight and it was great.
‘I put my bag under the window seat.’
Chris also suggested that this chair would be ideal for nervous flyers.
He explained his reasoning as follows: ‘For nervous pilots, I think the seats near the folding seats are a reassuring thought. They can sit near the flight attendants and see that they behave calmly.’

Chris responds to the comment, saying he only recommends the passenger seat for “couples, family or friends.”
