Chris Hemsworth has had his life turned upside down since discovering he could be susceptible to Alzheimer’s disease.

The 40-year-old Hollywood hunk was given the shock diagnosis after taking a genetic test alongside Chris Hemsworth in the National Geographic documentary series Limitless last year.

The test showed he has two copies of the gene APOE e4, which is linked to an increased risk of the debilitating disease.

“You constantly think you’re going to live forever, especially as a young individual. When I was told that this could be the thing that could get you out, it was like, whoa – it kind of confused me,” Hemsworth said on the show.

After the test, Chris made changes to his already extensive exercise routines and is now focusing more on his brain health.

In an interview with Men’s healthhe said he was “incorporating more loneliness into his life.”

“I’ve always been fairly consistent in my training commitments, but lately I’ve really felt the importance of taking time for yourself, without any outside voice or stimulation, and making time for silence,” he explains .

The Thor actor said that while exercise routines are important, he focused much more on mindfulness work.

In an interview with Men’s Health, he said he was “incorporating more loneliness into his life.”

Chris also makes sure he gets enough sleep and takes regular ice baths.

Over the past year, Hemsworth has also adjusted his fitness regimen.

“My weight fluctuates a lot due to different roles and also because of my own interests when it comes to challenging my body in different ways,” he said.

‘I lift less often than before and I do more cardio and endurance training, which I much prefer to heavy bodybuilding sessions.’
