Ali Blakey: Influencer suffers epic spelling fail as she butchers her own job title in heartfelt post

An Australian influencer made a huge blunder when she shared a positive message with her friends on social media.

Ali Blakey, 27, gave a shout-out to her influencer friends in a heartfelt post on her Instagram Story this week, but awkwardly misspelled the word “more often.”

“I want to say to all my friends who are struggling with the flu or work in this industry I SEE UUUU and I am so proud of you!!,” the Sydney creator captioned a selfie.

It’s just amazing to see everyone working so hard [their] goals and milestones.’

The term ‘influenza’ is often used in a derogatory and hostile manner by trolls or haters when referring to influencers.

Ali likely used the spelling on purpose as a joke, but influencer watchdog Influencer Updates AU found the misstep humorous.

“I thought it was funny that @aliblakey posted this cute message for her influencer friends but she spelled it influenza!” they wrote.

Several influencers have been criticized in the past for their blatant spelling and grammatical errors that they shared on social media to thousands of followers.

Another Instagram account, Celeb Spellcheck, exposes the most unfortunate typos made by celebrities and models — and some of them are downright spectacular.

One of the worst spellers is Skye Wheatley, a former Big Brother star from Australia.

When the influencer had her first child, Forest, in 2016, she captioned the post, “Didn’t expect you to be such a handsome guy,” misspelling the word “handsome.”

She also used the hashtag ‘#babyblues’ to refer to Forest’s blue pajamas, but the term also refers to postpartum depression.

Additionally, swimsuit model Indy Clinton was caught with a misspelled slogan printed on the side of her sneakers.

She had written, “Better than “Off White”,” when she probably meant, “Better than “Off White”.”

Finally, fitness blogger Ashy Bines also found herself in the spotlight of Celeb Spellcheck when she misspelled the word ‘vitamins’ as ‘vitemans’.
