Alex Scott revealed he defended Football Focus’ ratings while unveiling Saturday’s show ‘double everything on TV’ amid fears over the future of production.
The 38-year-old has spoken out about the ongoing situation after Mail Sport revealed earlier this week that the historic program has lost more than a third of its early season viewers in four years.
Former presenter Dan Walker admitted on Saturday that it is ‘difficult’ to see the iconic BBC show struggling amid a dramatic decline in viewership which could see it disappear.
Scott responded with a scathing response on social media in which she hit back at her predecessor with a GIF and said, “Interesting.”
The online feud finally ended with Walker wishing her well for Saturday’s television appearance.

Scott returned to social media ahead of Sunday’s north London derby between Arsenal and Spurs to thank viewers and provide an update on the show.
“Thank you to everyone who tuned in to Football Focus, your support for such an iconic show means so much to everyone who works on it,” Scott tweeted.
‘The viewing figures are double what was on TV yesterday (Saturday).
“Have a nice Sunday and see you in the Emirates, you gunners,” she added.
Scott doesn’t shy away from discussions about the show’s future and joked with co-host Fara Williams about the ongoing issue during the weekend production.

Scott is the first permanent female host of the iconic score update program which first aired in 1974 and was hosted by broadcasting legend Bob Wilson.
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker also enjoyed a successful period as the face of Football Focus between 1996 and 1999.
Scott attended Arsenal’s derby clash against Tottenham on Sunday and was pictured being interviewed by the Gunners media team.
