The disturbing incident in Lodi, south of Sacramento, came after the family sought refuge from the animal in their own backyard and were forced to use a piece of wood to protect themselves and their dog until it arrived. Animal Services.
Two-year-old Husky twice broke free when officials tried to catch the pet as it approached a group of people in front of his home.
The dog, named Enzo, ran about a half mile from his usual home, where the confrontation with police officers took place.

You could have caught it. You didn’t have to tased him! the neighbors yelled at the policemen.
You just attacked a group of kids. That was the problem,’ explained Officer Delgado.
He wasn’t attacking us! replied the neighbor, clearly distraught by what he had just witnessed.
“There was a group of kids and he attacked them, then he ran around the corner and attacked some more kids,” Officer Delgado said in an attempt to justify the use of force.
“The taser just stops him running,” he explained.

Lodi officers said they were called after receiving reports of an aggressive dog trying to chase a family with young children and biting them.
The officers defended the use of a Taser stating that it was “so that Animal Services would have an opportunity to secure the dog safely.”
The dog died shortly after the incident with its owners, Aline Galeno and her mother Anna Márquez later reporting its death.
‘We never put our hands on their dogs or anything. For those to be his last moments of getting hurt, I just don’t think it’s right,” Galeno told K.C.R.A.
Aline and her mother say that Enzo was not a ferocious dog.
Please tell me your story, that’s all I want. Everybody tell your story, spread the word, I want those guys fired or sued. I think Enzo didn’t deserve this and I want justice for Enzo,” Galeno said.
The dog died shortly after the incident with its owners, Aline Galeno and her mother Anna Márquez later reporting its death.
A memorial has been set up outside Enzo’s home following the dog’s untimely death.
A makeshift grave has been erected following the dog’s death.
The dog’s owners posted some photos in an attempt to portray the dog as peaceful.
