Afghanistan Gold Star mother who surprised CNN anchor that ‘consoler in chief’ Biden hasn’t contacted her family in over 2.5 YEARS arrives at the Capitol for his State of the Union speech

An Afghan Gold Star mother has arrived at the Capitol for Biden’s State of the Union address as she seeks closure more than two years after the deadly withdrawal.

Shamblin is the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, one of thirteen US troops killed in the terrorist attack in Kabul during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

Earlier Thursday, Shamblin surprised CNN anchor Abby Phillip after revealing that President Biden never contacted her family.

“He does talk to families who have lost loved ones because of his own experiences,” CNN anchor Abby Phillip said, citing how Biden often speaks about the deaths of his wife, daughter Naomie and son Beau.

“Have you talked to him?” Philip asked.

‘No. He has not contacted our family,” Shamblin said of Biden, who is known as the “chief comforter.”

“We contacted the White House and never heard back. We asked to meet with them to understand what their thoughts were in calling this a success, and we received no response. It’s been months.”

Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee said labeling the Biden administration’s withdrawal as a ‘success’ is like a ‘knife in the heart’

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Phillip said incredulously.

Christy Shamblin is a guest of House Speaker Michael McCaul.

He called it “an honor” to have her as a guest and said her presence is a “sobering reminder that this administration must be held accountable.”

Guests streamed more slowly to the House floor on Thursday evening for Biden’s big speech.

Three months after being dismissed from Congress, embattled Congressman George Santos returned for Biden’s State of the Union address.

Santos promptly took his seat next to Representative Lauren Boebert

The Americans killed in the blast were: (from left to right, starting with top row) Cpl. Daegan W. Page – Sergeant. Johanny Rosario Pichardo – Staff Sgt. Darin T. Hoover – Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza – Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum – Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui – Cpl. Hunter Lopez – Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz – Staff Sgt. Ryan C. Knauss – Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez – Marine Corpsman Maxton W. Soviak – Lance Cpl. Dylan R. Merola – Sergeant. Nicole L. Gee

Because he is a former congressman, he is allowed to retain floor privileges.

He was spotted in a classic navy blue sweater vest, blazer and shirt with rhinestones and collar.
