Adorable moment elephant returns toddler’s shoe after it falls into zoo enclosure

This is the adorable moment a clever elephant returned a toddler’s tiny shoe after it fell at a zoo.

In the adorable video, you can see the enormous creature carefully scooping up the tiny blue and yellow shoe using its enormous foot and long trunk.

Slowly grasping the tiny footwear, the gentle giant gently handed the shoe back and dropped it back into the young visitor’s hand.

The clever creature called Shanmai – which means ‘Mountains’ – lives in the Shendiaoshan Wild Animal Nature Reserve in Weihai, China.

At first glance, Shanmai initially thought the shoe was food, but when he picked it up, he quickly realized it was not a snack, an employee said.

But the kind elephant’s good deed did not go unnoticed, as a zookeeper later rewarded Shanmai with a watermelon for their kind gesture.

This comes shortly after tourists in South Africa had a terrifying encounter with an angry bull elephant during a safari tour.

The gruesome clip showed the enraged elephant lifting the bus of helpless tourists into the air with its tusks before dramatically slamming them back down to the ground, not once, but twice.

Cowering passengers were heard crying as the driver shouted loudly at the huge beast in the Pilanesberg National Park near Johannesburg, South Africa, to back away from the vehicle.

Despite the guide shouting loudly at the animal to ‘move, move’ as he punched the side of his open truck, the elephant was undeterred and stamped its feet at the tourists hoping to begin their safari tour.

Moving in for a second round, the 10-foot creature let out a loud trumpet before placing its massive tusks under the vehicle and nearly toppling it over as he pulled it sky high.

In the video that appeared online on March 19, the disgruntled elephant walked backwards out of the bus while vigorously flapping its wide ears.

Angry elephants are known to have wide eyes and spread their ears when approaching a perceived threat Asia Africa.

The terrified driver tried to reverse away from the disgruntled tusker who appeared to be heading for a third fight with the truck full of tourists.

But as the animal approached for the third lap, the driver clasped his palms together and pleaded, “No. Enough, enough, enough, enough.’

Trying to make a quick escape, the enraged animal kept its eyes on the vehicle until the end of the footage.

According to local media, no one in the vehicle was injured as a result of the incident.

Animal protection officials have previously warned drivers and tour operators to always give way to animals and to be especially careful around breeding herds.
