ABC News weatherman Rob Marciano ousted after ‘anger issues’ butted heads with GMA meteorologist Ginger Zee who ‘brought out the worst in him’

Ousted ABC News weatherman Rob Marciano regularly clashed with his predecessor Ginger Zee, who “brought out the worst in him.”

On Tuesday it was announced that 55-year-old Marciano was fired two years after he was taken off the air due to ‘anger problems’.

Marciano joined ‘GMA’ in 2014 to take over Zee’s weekend role after she was promoted to the daily set to replace chief meteorologist Sam Champion. The relationship between Marciano and Zee was rocky for years, an anonymous media manager told the newspaper New York Post.

While Marciano’s “hot temper” caused problems on set, the source said Zee could also be “annoying.”

‘I think she brought out the worst in him. I am not giving him permission,” the source said. “It’s sad because they’re two people who are really into the science of weather. Unfortunately, their personality didn’t work.’

The source added that Zee is a “know-it-all” who acted as an “alpha” and often treated Marciano like a “beta.”

“But in terms of experience they were much more equal, more so than Ginger was with Sam.”

Zee, who joined Good Morning America in 2011, was reportedly “raised up” when Marciano joined the network.

When he was hired, the network decided to launch a 24/7 weather unit for ABC News, “GMA” and World News Tonight.

“If you say something she doesn’t agree with, she’ll point to her Twitter followers and say, ‘You’re wrong, my followers on Twitter loved it,’” the media manager revealed.

The director said that if Marciano was “unsatisfied with something,” others would know.

“He lost his cool in meetings when he received news he didn’t like,” the source said.

Another source close to Zee, 43, said Marciano had “behavioral problems.”

“Ginger is a collaborative, inclusive and hardworking leader who is well respected by her colleagues and has never had any complaints about her work style,” the person told the outlet, adding that any suggestion otherwise is “sexist.”

DailyMail.com contacted Zee and Marciano’s teams for comment.

He was ‘banned’ from the studio after an incident with a female colleague and made several colleagues ‘feel uncomfortable’ around him.

After a month off the air, he was reassigned to ABC’s World News Tonight, which records from a different studio and reports from the field.

However, he was fired on Tuesday after two years of exile from the flagship morning show, The New York Post reported.

Why he was dumped now is unknown and neither he nor ABC commented.

Marciano’s latest report was published Sunday, a “reporter’s notebook” from Shreveport, Louisiana, a year after a massive storm that now reads like his epitaph.

He reposted weather reports from ABC News to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday morning, indicating the fire may have been sudden.

Marciano was initially suspended for a month, but GMA executive producer Simone Swink kept him banned from the studio indefinitely.

“It was determined that he had done something inappropriate, but he was punished for it and they still wouldn’t let him return,” a source told the paper. After last year.

‘He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period where there were some problems, some alarming events,” a second source claimed.

‘There were times when [Marciano] was very grumpy and angry… unsavory behavior on his part. He was taken away to deal with it and he’s back.”

Swink reportedly viewed Marciano’s problems as a “distraction” from the show’s news-gathering mission and refused to allow him back into the studio.

His ex-wife, Marciano, filed for divorce on June 18, 2021, and the breakup continued well into 2022, with their lawyers exchanging legal salvos.

“The last few years have been very difficult,” Marciano said at the time.

‘I didn’t want this and tried to save the marriage, but unfortunately we are divorcing. My focus now is on my children.’
