Abbie Chatfield was left ‘catatonic’ by stress caused by workaholism, landing her in a health retreat in Thailand

Abbie Chatfield revealed that her workaholism left her catatonic as she became incredibly overwhelmed by stress in recent months.

The sought-after media personality, 28, said it left her unable to talk for “about half an hour” at one point. PerthNow.

On Saturday she told how “paralysed” she felt because she found it difficult to say no to all the work projects she was offered.

“I was wearing so much… I’m not going to lie, I came back at the beginning of this year and it was worse than it was at the end of last year and I really couldn’t handle it,” she said.

“I don’t want to say I was catatonic, but I couldn’t talk for about half an hour one day, I was so paralyzed with stress.”

The admission comes just days after Abbie was hospitalized for a severe migraine while struggling with her stressful addiction.

The reality star shared a selfie of herself feeling unwell in bed earlier this week with the disturbing words: ‘I’m afraid I won’t survive the day.’

She explained that she went to the hospital after vomiting all night and was given medication, but it had worn off and she was still in a lot of pain.

The in-demand media personality said this left her unable to talk for “about half an hour” at one point, PerthNow reported

‘Went to the hospital last night. The medicine calmed me down and it seemed to be working until I woke up this morning with the same amount of pain,” she said.

In July, Abbie revealed she had been on a retreat in Thailand to recover from her workaholism issues.

The podcast host recorded a message for her It’s A Lot listeners explaining that she was taking a week off from work to reprioritize her commitments.

In an emotional voice recording, the radio presenter explained that she has a ‘real work addiction’ and therefore suffered from a serious burnout.

“I’m absolutely exhausted and burned out at the beginning of this year for a number of reasons,” she said.

“But I’ve been here about five days now and I think I’ve realized that my priorities need to shift a little bit. To be honest, I’ve taken on so many jobs and roles.”

She continued, “I’m trying to figure out what I want to do and what I don’t want to do and I’m trying not to force myself to work much harder than I have to.”
