Married at First Sight’s Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding have received criticism following their Sit With Us podcast interview with ‘villain’ Jack Dunkley.
During a dinner party from season 11, the 34-year-old personal trainer left the other couples and viewers stunned when he told Jonathan McCullough to ‘muzzle’ his wife Lauren Dunn.
And season nine best friends Ella and Dom discussed the comment with Jack, suggesting he was ‘pushed’ by Lauren.
“They (the producers) always put her right in front of you. It makes for great dinner parties,” Dom said.
“Great entertainment for us, but not for you,” Ella chimed in.

“The muzzle comment… for me it’s: why do we have to bring dogs into this? I’m a smartass, guys. But as soon as the words came out of your mouth, or while you were sitting there, you had to know that this wasn’t going to be good for you,” Dom added.
After attempts to shift blame, Jack’s misogyny was left unresolved, leading to criticism from fans.
Abbie Chatfield took to the comments section and didn’t mince her words.
“Really disappointing to see the victim blaming here, and that a man is allowed to speak about a woman in such an inhumane manner because she… spoke too much?” she started.
“I can’t believe I’m seeing both of you dismissing what he said because he was ‘pushed.’ That’s the excuse for all abusive men. And what he did was verbal abuse. This is really worrying.’
‘Especially in the current climate, this is really bad. Honestly, I feel a little sick, girls,” she continued.
“If I were you, I would delete this episode, apologize, and try to educate yourself on the inner workings of the patriarchy and how you upheld it in this interview. I actually feel sick,” Chatfield concluded.

Chatfield wasn’t the only one to share her displeasure.
‘Ella and Dom normally love your podcast, but I was shocked by this one. You have to reevaluate very quickly. The man has made numerous misogynistic comments throughout the series and you really let him off the hook and let him manipulate you,” wrote another fan.
“Girls, this is getting really, really disappointing,” another added.
“After 2 years of listening and enjoying, I’m officially unfollowing this podcast because of this episode,” wrote another.
“Sad to see you not holding this man accountable and then downplaying the situation with jokes?”
