Abbie Chatfield says she’s been ‘dumped again’ as a second radio co-host quits

Abbie Chatfield’s Hit Network radio show Hot nights has taken another hit after her understudy Nic Kelly quit this week.

Kelly had stepped in before Easter break to replace Chatfield’s co-anchor Rohan Edwards – who abruptly stepped down from his position on Monday, effective immediately.

But on Tuesday’s show, Chatfield revealed that Kelly had also made the decision to step down at short notice.

Fellow Hit Network talents Jimmy Smith and Nathan Roye filled in for Kelly on the 11th hour, but it’s unclear if they’ll take on a full-time role.

The guys already have their own show, Jimmy and Nath, which airs after Hot Nights from 9pm to 11pm, so they were basically working double shifts.

Chatfield, 27, explained to listeners that Kelly had taken “long-haul travel” on Hot Nights by broadcasting from a distance.

“So look, I’ve been dumped again,” the former Bachelor star added.

“But, on a positive note, Jimmy and Nath walked through the office and I said, ‘Guys, will you come into the studio and do my show with me? Because I don’t know how to push the buttons.'”

Rohan’s departure was confirmed in an email to Hit Network staff on Monday – the day all major radio shows returned from the two-week Easter survey break.

“Nobody knows for sure what’s going on. Abbie seems to be getting on well with Rohan on air, but people are wondering if things aren’t so rosy behind the scenes,” said a source.

Edwards had been with the Hit Network for over six years. He joined Hot Nights after leaving his role as midday announcer for Brisbane’s B105.

In another blow to Hot Nights, executive producer Max Corstorphan, who had been running the show since its launch in early 2022, also stepped down several weeks ago.

An SCA spokesman said Edwards had left the network to pursue “other interests” and would not be drawn into speculation about a split with Chatfield.

“Rohan Edwards has made the decision to leave his role as host of the Hit Network’s Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield show to pursue other interests,” the company told Daily Mail Australia.

“The Hit Network wishes Rohan all the best for his future.”

No reason was given for Corstorphan’s departure.

Chatfield broke into the entertainment industry with her blockbuster podcast It’s a Lot, which launched shortly after her appearance on The Bachelor.

The podcast was eventually picked up by SCA-owned “audio destination” LiSTNR, which led to her hosting her own radio show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.

Chatfield, who had never hosted a radio show prior to Hot Nights, will broadcast weekdays from 7 p.m. as he continues to tape episodes of It is much.

She is known for discussing adult topics on her podcast, often describing lewd acts in detail and sharing her own sexual experiences.

The influencer rose to fame on the 2019 season of The Bachelor before appearing on Bachelor in Paradise and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Despite the popularity of Hot Nights, rumors of behind-the-scenes strife have been circulating for months, with the latest departures all but confirming the speculation.
