Aaron Carter’s twin sister Angel announces star’s posthumous single Recovery 18 months after his tragic death aged 34 – with album featuring decade-old music set for release

Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel Carter, and his producer Aaron Pearce released the singer’s posthumous song, Recovery, on Friday, 18 months after his tragic death at the age of 34.

Recovery will be featured on an upcoming record titled The Recovery Album, which the authors say will feature several songs recorded over a decade ago Rolling stone.

Angel recently appeared on CBS mornings and stated that Carter’s followers were excited about the prospect of the release of his unearthed songs.

Angel stated, “Fans just reached out to Aaron Pearce and me and begged us to release this music. So here we are today.”

Carter’s sister further noted that the song was played at a public memorial service for her late brother.

“The fans asked for the music, and after Aaron passed away we put together a benefit concert in his honor called The Songs for Tomorrow Concert, and during this show we played Recovery,” she recalls.

Angel also said she wanted to use her late brother’s platform to help other people going through struggles with substance abuse.

“I would like to turn this ship around and really help other people and learn from our story,” she said.

The lyrics of Recovery also refer to the late singer’s difficult past and battle with substance abuse.

A percentage of proceeds from both Recovery and The Recovery Album, which debuts May 24, will go to mental health nonprofit On Our Sleeves.

Another portion of the revenue from both projects will also go to a trust for the late singer’s son, Prince Lyric Carter.

The artist died on November 5, 2022 at the age of 34 at his home in Lancaster, California.

According to the Associated pressthe singer’s body was found by a housekeeper who had entered his home to order coffee for him.

An autopsy revealed that alprazolam, sold under the name Xanax, and compressed gas difluoroethane were both found in Carter’s system.

Investigators found numerous prescription bottles and electronic duster cans at the scene of the artist’s death.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office later revealed that the songwriter drowned in his bathtub and ruled the incident an accident, according to Deadline.

An album of Carter’s work, titled Blacklisted, was released two days after his death, although it was later removed from streaming services.
